The purpose of this post is to enlarge your view of your place in God’s plans. You see, very often we think that we don’t have what it takes to do great things for God. But it is not true. Sure, our own gifts, strength, and energy are limited. But God knows that! He has given at least one spiritual gift to everyone who is a steward of his multi-faceted grace (as the Amplified Bible puts it). And that’s everyone who believes in Jesus as his/her savior. Also you.

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. (1 Peter 4:10-11, NLT)

God’s multi-faceted grace

So God has given you at least one gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. His great variety is much more than we can imagine. How exciting! Now it is time to find what your gift(s) is/are. The process of discernment of your spiritual gifts is an adventure with God. Don’t worry, the process is guided by the Holy Spirit. So rest and relax and enjoy the ride.

And then you get to put your gift(s) to use. But even that is not to be done out of your strength. Peter tells us to do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Did you catch that? With all the strength and energy that God supplies. How marvelous. I don’t have to be worried about my dwindling strength. It is not about me, it is about God’s multi-faceted grace and how we release it through our lives into the world.

So let us rejoice in being called and equipped to work with God. No matter what you are called to do, God will equip and empower you to do so for his glory and for the benefit of the people you are serving.

Gracious God,
We thank you and we praise you for your amazing grace.
Thank you for gifting all of us with at least one spiritual gift.
Help us to discern what it is and how to use it for your glory.
Thank you also for supplying each of us with plenty of strength and energy to do your will.
Get us excited about being your partners in this world.
Use us according to your plans for each one of us.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

P.S.

Isn’t it awesome! We all have spiritual gifts of God’s multi-faceted grace! Now it’s time to discern and embrace them and put them to use by God’s power. All is prepared for us. So let’s ask God to show us what are his plans for each of us. Life with God is exciting. Join me in the fun! Blessings upon blessings!
