When the world gets gloomier by the minute we need to remind ourselves we have plenty of hope to compensate for any gloom and doom we encounter. I know it’s now easy but if we deliberately draw near to God, his grace will fill us with his hope. You see, Jesus is the living way. Jesus is alive and offers us hope upon hope 24/7.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:19-23, NIV)

As long as we remember that we have a living God we are all right. We are not alone and we are not unloved or forgotten. Actually, the truth is quite the contrary: God sent his only son to open us a way back to him. He wants us to live in his presence. Jesus is the living way for us.

Jesus is the living way

Let’s not forget this. That’s why we need to remind ourselves of this joyful fact every morning. By the blood of Jesus, we are saved and safe wherever we are. We have hope upon hope, for he who promised is faithful.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life as the Gospel of John puts it. All have been prepared for us. Jesus is the living way. It’s never stale; it’s the living way. Jesus is alive and wants to interact with us. He wants us to continually abide in him so he can thoroughly bless us.

As we know, grace is new every morning. So we are to draw near to God every morning and ask for grace for the day. You see, grace is the secret of victorious living; it’s God’s power for us. When we are filled with the Spirit of God, we are ready to meet the day.

So let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. That way we can be filled with hope everlasting. Then nothing can keep us down. Nothing. Not because we’d be invincible. But because our Savior is.

Dear God,
Thank you for giving us your son.
Without him, there is no going, knowing, or living.
But with Jesus, we have everything we need.
Be praised forever and ever!
Show us how we can be filled with hope, faith, and love every day of our lives.
Empower us for victorious and gracious living for your glory and for the best of our neighbors.
Bless us according to your will.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

P.S.

Be richly blessed, my fellow believer. God is good and he wants good things for you. But they might not come the way you would prefer, nonetheless, they’re the best for you. So trust God, embrace hope, and live in grace. Jesus is the living way. Hallelujah!
