Do Not Forget God’s Grace
No matter what is going on in your life, do not forget God’s grace. Why you ask. Because God’s grace is not just for pardon, it is also to empower you for joyful living. Without joy and God’s power in our life, we tend to forget God and his blessings and instead, barge through life on our own strength. And it will not get us far.
Mark Dever has said, “forgetfulness of God’s grace is one of the greatest tools in the enemy’s war against our souls.” I believe so too. When we forget of God’s grace, full of power and glory, we feel alone in the world. And the lone sheep is in danger. That’s why we need to stick closely to the Shepherd and we will be always safe and blessed.
Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
(Psalm 103:1-5, NIV)
Do not forget God’s grace
God’s grace is all-powerful. There’s nothing it can’t forgive, nothing it can heal, nothing it can’t redeem. We are safe in grace. But that’s not all. We’re also empowered in grace. All that is God’s is also ours through the grace of Jesus Christ. That’s why we will not despair no matter how bleak our prospects look or how scary the world becomes.
With the words of Paul David Tripp “Don’t let the crisis cloud the cross”. No matter how foggy it seems to get, the cross and all that it represents to us are still good and valid. Hence do not let the difficulties you’re facing keep you from the cross. Because, at the cross, you receive all that grace you need and then some. God is not stingy with his grace. He will always give more than you ask for, more than you need so you have extra to share with others.
So do not forget God’s grace. Instead, use it liberally. Splash in it, rejoice and revel in it. Share it and enjoy it. When you do so, you’re making sure you’re not letting the world and its wolves get between you and the cross. And by doing so you do not forget God’s grace. Instead, it becomes your lifeline, your joy, your power.
Gracious God,
We thank you for your generous blessings.
You are truly amazing.
We need you, we need the cross and your amazing grace.
Do not let us forget your grace and its benefits.
Draw us near to you and bless us richly.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
P.S.
Isn’t it interesting how easily we forget all that God has done for us? We need to fight the good fight so we do not forget God’s grace and its benefits. Because our spiritual life does depend on it. So, my dear friend, keep on celebrating grace and the Giver of Grace. Blessings upon blessings to you!
