Let’s Turn to Jesus

Let’s Turn to Jesus

Let's turn to Jesus

As the Coronavirus spreads, we are forced to pause. It can feel strange to suddenly have so much time on your hands. Instead of panicking or numbing the hollowness you feel inside, let’s turn to Jesus. He is the only one who can fill the empty hole inside of you.

With the words of Blaise Pascal “There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus.” So it’s time to leave the ways you’ve tried to fill the emptiness (busyness, alcohol, drugs, sugar, success…), and turn to Jesus. He can make you whole.

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. (Col. 2:9-10, NIV,*)

Let’s turn to Jesus

Blessedly, it’s the season of Lent, a special time set aside to reflect, repent and turn to God. Now we’ve even gifted extra time to do so. Let’s not waste it but use it wisely. Our wholeness and well-being (and also our eternity) depend on it. So let’s not hesitate, God is waiting for us with open arms. Let’s (re)turn to him.

Dear God,
Thank you for patiently waiting for us.
Forgive our trespasses, Lord.
We surrender to you, we want to be truly yours.
Make us whole again, show us how to live in you.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: How are you doing?

Blessings to you, my fellow pilgrim, as you (re)turn to God!
