Impossible Prayers

Impossible Prayers

Impossible prayers

How is your prayer life? Are you praying impossible prayers? Or do you settle for nice little prayers? I hope you choose to pray big, bold prayers. Because that tells me your God is big and mighty.

You see, “God delights in answering our impossible prayers” as Bob Goff has put it. God delights in you asking for impossible things. Because that tells him that you a) need him, b) you believe he can do mighty things, and c) you welcome his interference in your life.

Likewise, if you pray small but nice prayers, it tells God a) you don’t need him, b) you believe he can not do much for you, and c) you do not welcome his work in your life.

Impossible prayers

Which one is it for you? Do you go big for big God? I certainly hope so. Because there is no limit for what God can do in your life. Do not hinder God’s power in your life with small prayers.

Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people [as far as it depends on them] it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27, AMP)

When we pray impossible prayers, when the outcomes are out of our reach, God can really show his power in our lives. And the world is watching. So let’s not settle for humanly possible prayers. Let’s go for impossible prayers!

Gracious God,
Forgive us for praying safe and small.
Fill us with your Spirit
and make us bold in Christ.
Remind us to pray impossible prayers
so you can show your power and glory.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: How is your prayer life? Has it changed your life?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you pray big and bold prayers and welcome God’s involvement in your life!

I have started linking the Bible verses to Biblegateway.com so you can easily read (and compare) them in the different versions I’ve used while preparing each post.] Photo by Rohit Guntur on Unsplash.
