No Hurry in Grace

No Hurry in Grace

No hurry in grace

Do you ever wonder if you’re getting into heaven by accident or, at least, not by your own merit but somebody else’s? Congratulations are in order if you realize it is Jesus’ merits that get you into heaven. Not yours on anybody else’s. So relax, all is done. There’s no hurry in grace.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Eph. 2:8-9, ESV)

You see, some people think that because Jesus came to save in their estimate deserving people, now also they can get the gift of grace as an afterthought. But you’re not any less special in God’s eyes than anybody else. Jesus would have come to die on the cross even if it were only for your sake. He came to save you because you are extra special and the apple of his eye.

No hurry in grace

You are not special because what you do or how your faith is. Instead, you are extra special because you are God’s child. And your faith is precious because it is God’s gift to you. Honestly, you don’t need to perform to be loved and cherished by God. You’ve been freed from all that on the cross.

Truly, trust me when I say you and your faith are beautiful just as you are. Because of Jesus, you have the right to be in a relationship with God. You can do it on your own pace and in your own way. God knows you and will guide because he loves you.

You’re called to live and grow in his love and grace. And in grace, you know, there is no hurry. In grace, you have already arrived. So take your time. Enjoy. Love yourself, love others. And, most of all, love God with everything you’ve got.

Gracious God,
Thank you for everything,
how beautifully you’ve planned and provided salvation for us.
We love you for it.
Thank you that there’s no hurry in grace,
we’ve already arrived in grace.
Help us to remember this especially when we feel rushed
or pushed to perform.
Show us how to abide in you continually.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you believe there is no hurry in grace? How does this belief change your life? Let it happen!

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you let God’s grace change your way of life!
