Especially when we’ve experienced betrayal, we value loyalty and faithfulness more than ever. Without commitment, it’s hard to build anything valuable and lasting. This is also true in faith matters and this is why we are called to loyalty to God. When we first turn to God, then he can save us with his glorious grace. And when we keep on facing God, he can truly transform us with his loyal love.

God’s love is meteoric,
    his loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
    his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
    nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
    slips through the cracks.
(Psalm 36:5-6, AMP,*)

Loyalty and Faithfulness

God’s love is meteoric. It’s always more powerful than we can imagine. God’s loyalty and faithfulness are astronomic. They’re always more astounding than we can understand. Whether we know it or not, God is all that we desire and all that we need. He even provides us grace to turn to him and be loyal to him.

You see, everything starts with grace and ends with grace. Loyalty starts in grace and ends in grace. It’s always God first and then we respond to him. His glorious grace rescues us and his loyal love transforms us. Then even we can be loyal and faithful. First to God and then to others. God and his amazing grace is our only hope. But, boy, that hope will never let us down.

 

Gracious God,
Thanks for never letting us down.
Thank you for unwavering loyalty and faithfulness.
Save us, pour out as much your glorious grace as we need.
Transform us, surround us with your loyal love.
Enable us to live and breath loyalty and faithfulness just as you do.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
