God, Do It Again

God, Do It Again

God, do it again!Do you ever wonder whether God can still do mighty things? And if he can, could he do them in your life? We do need reminders of God’s power and goodwill towards us. Otherwise, we have a hard time believing in God and his grace. The Bible is full of these reminders and that’s why we need to keep on devouring it. But in the end, faith is a mystery, we can’t explain everything. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be faith. As Martin Luther has said, “Faith is a living, daring confidence in God’s grace, so sure and certain that a man could stake his life on it a thousand times.” We just need to trust and live out what we believe. But the question stays: If God really is all-powerful and capable of mighty things, could he do them in our life? So our prayer is: Please, God, do it again!

It seemed like a dream, too good to be true,
    when God returned Zion’s exiles.
We laughed, we sang,
we couldn’t believe our good fortune.
We were the talk of the nations—
    God was wonderful to them!”
God was wonderful to us;
    we are one happy people.

And now, God, do it again
bring rains to our drought-stricken lives
So those who planted their crops in despair
will shout hurrahs at the harvest,
So those who went off with heavy hearts
will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing.
(Psalm 126, MSG, emphasis added)

Please, God, Do It Again

This is our prayer, isn’t it? ‘Please, God, do it again. What you did for the Israelites, please, do it again for us! We need you, Lord. We need you so bad. The world is going crazy, we need you. My life is a mess, do your mighty thing. A cousin of mine is applying for a job, please, do it again. Lord, we need you. Do your miracles in our lives, Lord. Please, God, do it again.’

What do we do after this kind of prayer? Do we go back worrying or do we truly trust God to work in our lives? Do we stake our lives on God or on ourselves? This is what we need to choose every morning. What is it going to be? Do I live with God or without him? Because if we choose God, then we need to trust him and really let God do it again.

Thank you, God, for doing it again

And, my friend, he will. So each and every day look for what God has prepared for you. Those things are not necessarily the things you would want but they are things you need. Keep praying, keep praising, keep thanking him for mighty things he is doing in your life. Because he is. Even if you do not see the results yet but he is at work in you, for you, through you.

You can trust our heavenly Father. He wants nothing but the best for you. And he is not a stranger to your struggles and disappointments. He does not leave you when things are not going well or you’re choosing the wrong thing. There’s always more grace for you. And, yes, God will do it again and again. Because he loves you so very much.

Gracious God,
Show us, again and again, your love and mercy.
Pour out grace upon grace.
Please, God, do it again,
do your mighty things in our lives.
We need you, Lord.
Let us feel your presence and
move mightily in our lives.
Give us armloads of blessings.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Are you in need of God in your life? Good for you! He is ready to bless you, just ask!

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you embrace God’s grace and trust God with your life! You will never be short-changed.
