It’s Monday. Hence it’s time to remind us of the things that really matter and keep us going no matter what. It’s time to held our two hands open to receive all of the Lord as Alan Redpath describes faith. It’s time to believe that this Monday morning blues is not all there is. I’ve always said there are always lots of reasons to praise the Lord anytime. These two verses from the first letter to Thessalonians sum up them nicely:

May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it! (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, MSG)

Here are eight reasons to praise the Lord anytime:

1) God Almighty is holy.
2) God makes everything holy and whole.
3) This applies to you too.
4) God can put your spirit, soul, and body together.
5) God is able to keep you together and fit for the second coming of Jesus.
6) God guides, guards, and protects you.
7) God is dependable, trustworthy, and faithful.
8) If God said it, he’ll do it.

What do you say? Enough reasons to praise the Lord anytime, anywhere? I think so. Hence I start my work week with praise. It doesn’t matter it’s raining. My headache does not keep me from praising the Lord either. God is in control. And he loves me. The Bible tells me so. Hallelujah!

 

Gracious God,
I don’t have much to bring to you this morning.
But I do bring my open heart and empty hands.
Pour out grace upon grace, Lord, I need you so much.
Thank you for always being there for me.
You are always more than I need,
more than I can imagine.
Be praised forever and forever!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
