Faith on Friday the 13th

Faith on Friday the 13th

Faith on Friday the 13th
Today – being Friday the 13th and all – I want to remind you to take up the shield of faith.

Above all, carry the shield of faith so that you can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one. (Eph. 6:16, CEB)

We are saved by grace through faith. But so often we forget that through faith we also receive God’s protection.

God’s your Guardian,
right at your side to protect you—
   Shielding you from sunstroke,
      sheltering you from moonstroke.
God guards you from every evil,
      he guards your very life.
He guards you when you leave and when you return,
he guards you now, he guards you always.
(Psalm 1215-8, MSG)

So let’s not forget to carry our shield of faith. Because our faith in Jesus activates God’s protection for us. Every single day on our faith journey. God will protect us from all evil. Also on Friday the 13th.

All God’s promises are valid also today. So, are you superstitious or a Christian? You can’t be both. You either believe in God and his power to set you free or you don’t. You either live in fear or you live in God’s grace. You are either a slave of superstitions or you are a free child of God. (See more at  Christians and Friday the 13th)

Nothing can be against us if we abide in God. It does not matter what day of the year it is, the resurrection power is in effect. The very same power is at work in our lives that raised Christ from the dead. Add Contact Form (See more at Friday the 13th – What is it to us?)

Believe, embrace, and celebrate the promises of the Bible.
Speak them to your enemies and watch them to flee.

Enjoy the freedom, protection, and victory you have in Christ.
So claim and carry your shield of faith with great joy.
Today and always.

Gracious God,
We thank you and we praise you!
Thank you that nothing can separate us from you.
Thank you that your promises are always true.
Thank you that we are always safe in you.
We carry our shield of faith with joy.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: How do you feel about Friday the 13th?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you boldly live out your faith on Friday the 13th!

* [As you might have noticed, I enjoy reading the Bible in different translations and love comparing them. I have started linking the Bible verses to Biblegateway.com so you can easily read (and compare) them in the different versions I’ve used while preparing each post.]
