Rescuing Knight, Lifeguard and Savior All in One

Rescuing Knight, Lifeguard and Savior All in One

God the RescuerHas God rescued you out of deep waters? Has God pulled you out of chaos? Has Jesus saved your life?

Do you still remember the awesome feeling of being pulled out of darkness? Or have you forgotten all the good God has done to you?

Forgetfulness is one of the dangers in our relationship with God. Too often we are thankful for all the good when we are just out of deep waters. But then we go on with our lives and forget God’s goodness. We forget that God is a mighty rescuer, wild God that can’t be tamed or diminished into a minor detail of our life.

   But me he caught—reached all the way
      from sky to sea; he pulled me out
   Of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos,
      the void in which I was drowning.
   They hit me when I was down,
      but God stuck by me.
   He stood me up on a wide-open field;
      I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!
(Psalm 18:16-19, MSG)

That’s why we need to remind ourselves and each other about God’s awesomeness. We need to read the stories of faith in the Bible. We need to write our own rescue stories down. We need to sit still in reverent awe of God and let the memories fill our hearts with gratitude.

Because God is our rescuing knight, lifeguard, and savior all in one. Not only once in our life time. Not only on our dark days. Not only in July. But every single day of our lives.

God made my life complete
      when I placed all the pieces before him.
   When I got my act together,
      he gave me a fresh start.
   Now I’m alert to God’s ways;
      I don’t take God for granted.
   Every day I review the ways he works;
      I try not to miss a trick.
   I feel put back together,
      and I’m watching my step.
   God rewrote the text of my life
      when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes.
    (Psalm 18:20-24, MSG)

We really can’t mess up our lives so bad that God could not rescue us or make our lives whole again. Our God is wild and almighty. He is more than able to give us a fresh start. God is ready to rewrite our life stories. God has plans of perfect peace for us.

When we open our hearts and minds to God we find ourselves safe and saved. God is not only rescuing us but he is putting our lives back together. God is guarding our lives from evil. God is saving our souls. And God makes us complete when we place all the pieces before him. How wonderful is that!?

We just need to let him to do the rescuing for us. All the days of our lives.
We just need to remember him and his amazing love. Until the end of our lives.

Gracious God,
You are our rescuer, savior, and life guard all in one.
We need you every day of our lives.
Save us from ourselves!
Save us from deep waters!
Save us from darkness!
Give us a fresh start.
Put our lives back together.
Make us alert to your ways.
Fill us with your Holy Spirit!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

  1. My rescue story is that God graciously saved me as a young girl and has protected me since them. I’m seeking to serve him by faithfully serving my husband and son. I also share my faith through my blog and in relationships.

    PS: I host a linkup on Wednesdays called WIP (work in progress) Wednesday. I would love for you to join us!

  2. I love the wonderful message that God has put in your heart, I was once sat in darkness but Jesus’ light has caused me to open my eyes and rescued me from the darkness that I myself created. Thanked God for He has rescued me, He never fails me. =D

  3. Believe me, if He had not rescued, saved, and delivered me, being a wonderful Knight, I wouldn’t be here in your life… or anyone else’s.  He was/is all that counts.  My Redeemer, Renewer, Restorer, Receiver, and on and on.   I am a very grateful lady.  And you made my heart jump for joy.

    Thanks much.

  4. I love this post because it gives me goose bumps every time I think of how God has rescued and changed me!  He saved me from bitterness and anger and hurt and brought me to a place of complete healing and forgiveness.  Praise God that He saved me!
