Weekend Prayer Wall {Jan. 7-8}

Weekend Prayer Wall {Jan. 7-8}

When prayer is a struggle, do not worry about the prayers that you cannot pray. You yourself are a prayer to God at that moment. All that is within you cries out to Him. And he hears all the pleas that your suffering soul and body are making to Him with groanings which cannot be uttered.
~Ole Hallesby

Intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears…. The more your prayer is like Christ’s, the sweeter it will be…. Intercessory prayer exceedingly prevails. What wonders it has wrought! It has stopped plagues,…healed diseases,…raised the dead…. There is nothing that intercessory prayer cannot do. Believer, you have a mighty engine in your hand – use it well, use it constantly, use it now with faith, and you shall surely prevail…. Never give up anyone for spiritually dead until they are dead naturally… ~Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“I pray they will be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. I pray that they also will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.” (John 17:21, CEB)

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, which is near Jerusalem—a sabbath day’s journey away. When they entered the city, they went to the upstairs room where they were staying. Peter, John, James, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James, Alphaeus’ son; Simon the zealot; and Judas, James’ son— all were united in their devotion to prayer, along with some women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers. (Acts 1: 12-14, CEB, emphasis added)

Forgive us, Lord . . . for the things we have done that make us feel uncomfortable in Your presence. All the front that we polish so carefully for men to see does not deceive You. For you know every thought that has left its shadow on our memory. You have marked every motive that curdled something sweet within us.

We acknowledge–with bitterness and true repentance–that cross and selfish thoughts have entered our minds; we acknowledge that we have permitted our minds to wander through unclean and forbidden ways; we have toyed with that which we knew was not for us; we have desired that which we should not have.

We acknowledge that often we have deceived ourselves where our plain duty lay.

We confess before You that our ears are often deaf to the whisper of Thy call, our eyes often blind to the signs of your guidance,
Make us willing to be changed, even though it requires surgery of the soul and the therapy of discipline.
Make our hearts warm and soft, that we may receive now the blessing of Your forgiveness, the benediction of Your “Depart in peace . . and sin no more.” Amen
~Peter Marshall

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give Your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest Your weary ones. Bless Your dying ones. Soothe Your suffering ones. Pity Your afflicted ones. Shield Your joyous ones. And all for Your love’s sake. Amen
~Father Timothy Kavanagh

  1. Dear God,
    Thank you for listening to us.
    We want to listen to you!
    What do you have for us today?
    Show us how to live well,
    how to become more like you.
    Bless us according to our needs.
    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen

  2. Thank you God for technology such as this. Lord, as I approach a new phase in my life (marriage), please help me get a job that will be enough for my future family and I. As I have applied for a number of positions, let your will be done that I may honor you at my workplace and make it my mission field. Amen.

    Ryan

    1. Yes, Lord, we pray for Ryan and with Ryan. You know him. Ryan is seeking your will as he approaches a new phase in his life. Give him clear guidance. Open the right doors, close the wrong ones. Thank you, Jesus, that you are directing Ryan’s path! We pray that your will- nothing else, nothing less, nothing more- will happen in Ryan’s life. We ask blessings upon Ryan and his future family. May you be glorified in everything! In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

  3. Please pray for my son, Joshua, that satan will turn him loose and that he will turn back to the Lord and that his life will be on track again.

    1. Dear God, we continue to pray for Joshua. You know him and what’s keeping him away from you. We ask that you bind everything that keeps him from turning back to you. Create in him a new heart, let him know that you love and care for him. Give him hope and encouragement for the future. Show him that you are the answer for everything he is searching for. Give patience, peace, and love for his family while they’re waiting and praying for him. Lord, hear our prayers. Do your miracles and bring Joshua back to you and his family. May your will happen in Joshua’s life. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  4. Please pray for the family of Harlen — I had his funeral service today. Harlen was a faithful Christian who truly loved God. While his family knows that God is holding him, their hearts are heavy. Pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort them and help them hold fast to the promise of the resurrection! Thanks 🙂

    1. Dear God,
      We pray for the family of Harlen. They are grieving, their hearts heavy with loss of their loved one. Comfort them, assure them of the promise of the resurrection, become as real to them than you were to Halden here on earth. Thank you that you are the ultimate healer. Cover the family of Harlen with your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen
