Today I want to remind ourselves of the resurrection reality in the everyday life of Christians. Too often we live like nothing would have changed, like the resurrection of Jesus would not have happened. But it certainly did (even though it does sound crazy, doesn’t it?) and you should live like you believe. And that’s what you want, right?

So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing. (2 Corinthians 5:6-7, NLT)

You do want to live like you believe. How to go about it then? Glad you asked, my friend. The answer is really simple and you probably know it too. We all sometimes forget it and then we wonder why everything feels so gloomy.

Live like you believe

What is it then? How can you live like you believe? Remind yourself daily about the resurrection reality and live like you believe it. Hence praise God and thank him for all he has done and all he is doing. When we do this, we receive hope upon hope and that does change everything.

Too often we are stuck on Good Friday and keep on begging and begging without remembering or truly believing Christ has risen. All the promises of God are valid also today and each and every one of them is meant for you too. So no need to be gloomy or, at least, do not base your faith on your feelings. You’re called to live like you believe and not like you feel. Because feelings come and go but God’s Word lasts forever.

So live like you believe, embrace the resurrection reality daily. Live in grace, revel in God’s love, embrace the joy of the Lord. This is your good portion as a child of God. Yes, keep on praying but pray like you believe. Pray with power, joy, and hope. Live with faith, love, and grace. Because they are all yours in Jesus.

Gracious God,
Forgive us for forgetting the resurrection reality
and falling into despair.
Help us to remember your promises for your children
and live as we believe.
Fill us daily with faith, hope, and love.
Open our hearts to your gifts, promises, and possibilities.
Show us what it means to daily
live in your grace,
revel in your love,
and embrace your joy.
