That’s God’s Love for You

That’s God’s Love for You

That's God's love for you.

Do you believe God loves you no matter what you do or leave undone? Good for you. Do you believe this also in dark times? You see, it’s easy to believe God is good and he loves you when things are going well for you. But when tough times arrive, do you still think you’re the apple of God’s eye? Because that’s God’s love for you.

With the words of Henri Nouwen “Many people don’t think they are loved, or held safe, and so when suffering comes they see it as an affirmation of their worthlessness. The great question of ministry and the spiritual life is to learn to live our brokenness under the blessing and not the curse.”

Let me tell you, there’s nothing that can take God’s love from you. His love is not conditional like humans’ love very often is. God doesn’t love because you’re loveable, he loves because he is love. There’s a huge difference and that is a blessing.

For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39, AMP, emphasis added)

That’s God’s love for you

Nothing can separate you from God’s love. Not even you. God is greater than your mistakes. Nothing you do or leave undone separates you from God’s love. It’s a done deal. You are loved, you are cherished, you are treasured. No matter how broken or failed you feel you are. Just like everything in faith, it’s not about you, it’s about God.

So do yourself a favor. Learn to consider yourself as a beloved child of God and as such learn to bask in his love both in rain and shine. Only then you’re ready to embrace other gifts God has for you. And even then you have just a glimpse of God’s goodness. That’s God’s love for you.

Gracious God,
You are so good to us.
Help us to embrace your goodness
and accept your love as an unconditional gift it is.
Thank you for not wavering with your love
but always loving us without hesitation.
Surround us with your love and grace.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Is it hard for you to feel loved by God? Why/why not?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you learn to bask in God’s love!
