I love knowing God knew me before I was born. He knows me thoroughly because he made me. None of us is alive by accident. We are alive because God called us into being. Just think about it! You are God’s beloved child and your life has a meaning – and purpose. So lift your head high and rejoice. Live your life by faith.

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].  (Hebrews 11:1, AMP,*)

One of the most important things to know about faith is this: faith is not something we do, it’s something we receive. So if we want to live by faith, it’s not something we force to happen, it’s something we let happen. See the difference? Good.

Live your life by faith

When we live our life by faith, we allow God’s Spirit to move in us and guide us. We don’t produce faith, we let it run wild in us, change us, and produce good fruit through us.

By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. (Hebrews 11:3, NLT,*)

It was helpful to me to read this Bible verse in Finnish. ‘By faith’ is translated “with the aid of faith”. We live our lives by the aid of faith, not by our own might. It’s all grace. Somehow this encapsulates the essence of faith beautifully. We live by the aid of faith indeed, we believe by the aid of God.

So go out and spread your wings. Live your life by faith. Allow God to aid you in everything. He knows you intimately and he knows what you need to live well. Let him do it, let God shower you with his power and grace. Experience what it means to live freely in Jesus. There’s nothing better. You will lack nothing. Instead, it empowers you to thrive. Gracefully.

Let us pray

Gracious God,
You are everything we need and you know what we need before our need even rises.
We thank you, we praise you, we adore you.
Help us to stop forcing works and letting your grace work in and through us.
Thank you for giving us everything we need to live by faith.
Show us now how to live by faith every single day.
In Jesus’ name,
