How to Be Content in Every Situation

How to Be Content in Every Situation

how to be content in every situation

My recipe for being content in every situation is very simple: seek God in the morning. Only God can enable us to be content in every situation, no matter how hard a place we find ourselves in. Really.

Sure, it does not come naturally to us. Even Paul says he had “learned to be content whatever the circumstances” (Phil.4:11, NIV). It is a skill we can learn. How to go about it?

How to be content in every situation

I have learned that if I turn to God in the morning, I can bear anything. If I am filled with God’s grace, I can be content in every situation. Without grace, I would be grumpy but with grace, I can rejoice and be glad all my days.

Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy,
That we may rejoice and be glad all our days!

(Psalm90:14, NKJV)

So make it a habit to commune with God in the morning. You will be happy you did. It’s a miracle, really, happening every single time we seek God. Only God can fill me with peace and satisfy my soul in such a fashion that nothing can shake it. And even this is not all.

On the day I called, You answered me;
And You made me bold
and confident with [renewed] strength in my life. (Psalm 138:3, AMP)

When we spend time with God, we are strengthened and empowered to meet anything the day (or life) will throw at us. Truly. We can’t but God can. And he is more than happy to help us. So let’s not waste any of God’s gifts. Instead, let’s use them for his glory.

Let us pray

Gracious God,
You are so good to us.
Help us to remember that
and live accordingly.
Draw us to you every morning.
Only you can satisfy our souls,
only you can make us bold and confident
and content in every situation.
Pour out grace upon grace and
empower us to live and work for your glory.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you take God up for his promises?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you seek God every morning.
