Do not Let the World Fool You
I think I’ve been living in denial. You know, thinking the western world would not be so immoral or post-Christian. But a few things have forced me to open my eyes and the view is daunting. Lord, have mercy on us. I can see why people start questioning the Bible and their beliefs when everyone around them is living like Jesus never existed. But they are mistaken. Please, do not let the world fool you.
Do not let the world fool you
Denial is not good. Neither is embracing the world as it is. We are to be aware of the moral stage of the world but we are not to get paralyzed or hopeless because there is no reason for that. Because we have a very powerful God of Hope and the Holy Spirit testifies in our spirit that all that Bible tells us is true no matter what the world says or does. Hence do not let the world fool you. Christ is the Lord.
Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say—living lives that lead others away from sin], having been deeply rooted [in Him] and now being continually built up in Him and [becoming increasingly more] established in your faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing in it with gratitude. (Col.2:6-7, AMP)
What to do then?
Stick close to Jesus. Be built up in Him. Read the Living Word, otherwise, you will forget the truth. Pray like never before. Increase your petitions for your community, country, the whole wide world. Focus on good things happening. And there are plenty of them.
God is working and he is inviting us to join his forces. We can’t afford to just mind our own business because we are called to spread God’s love and his amazing grace that can change any life for better. The world needs Jesus more than ever before. And you and I, we are it. We are this generations’ missionaries right where we are. Do not let the world fool you.
Be filled with grace and then go out and love graciously all you meet. It’s that simple as that. But do we choose to live according to our own whims or do we get our act together and do what God is calling us to do? It is a battle. But Jesus has already won it on the cross. Let’s let him empower us for victorious living.
Gracious God,
We come to you with heavy hearts,
the world seems to become darker by the minute.
Help us not to lose hope but cling to you, God of Hope.
Pour out hope upon hope, light upon light, grace upon grace.
Fill us with your Holy Spirit and ignite that holy spark in us
so we could be your hands and feet in this world.
Empower us for your glory.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
