Little Is Much when Jesus Is in It
Sometimes we frown on our lives because they are too plain or small to our liking. Like big and bold would somehow be the only acceptable way to live. I disagree. One’s rowdiness, or even successfulness, does not necessarily produce a meaningful life. And the amount of attention you get does not tell the value of your life. Because your value comes from the Lord, not from the size of your following or popularity. The world might differ but little is much when Jesus is in it.
Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love (Eph. 1:4, MSG).
Your value comes from the Lord
Did you know your value is full and complete right now just as you are? Your value does not change depending on how productive or unproductive you are in your life. Every life is valued the same. You can’t earn it, it’s a gift to you. The value of your life is non-negotiable. You’ve been made by God and into his image and your value is beyond any charts.
You are valuable no matter how plain or small your life is.
And you are loved no matter how you feel about yourself.
How to become more?
But what if you’d like to increase your influence anyhow? Just know that becoming more does not happen by trying more. The secret to becoming more is in surrender. I know, surrender is most likely the last thing you associate with becoming more. But it is so in God’s kingdom.
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (John 12:24-25, NIV)
Little is much when Jesus is in it
You might be surprised how much God’s power enlarges your life. Jesus fed thousands with the little boy’s lunch. Little is much when Jesus is in it. It’s not about you but about Jesus in you. Our job is to surrender to Jesus daily and he will enlarge our territories and influence and anything else needs to be done. In God’s time and in God’s way, of course. When we surrender to Jesus, little becomes much, much more.
So don’t worry about how plain or simple your life is, just give it to Jesus. Don’t compare yourself to others, that’s devil’s business. Just embrace Jesus daily and let him use his power in your life. He can do so much more with your life than you ever could. Little is much when Jesus is it.
Gracious God,
Your love is astronomical and astonishing.
And you love us just as we are
yet you want so much more for us.
Thank you, it’s not about us but you in us.
Let your Spirit blow in and through us as you wish.
We surrender to you and eagerly wait how you will use us.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Q4U: What do you think? Is surrender the way to a meaningful life? Do you think little is much when Jesus is in it?
Be blessed my fellow pilgrim as you embrace God and what he is doing in your life!
