Something in Common with God?

Something in Common with God?

Something in common with God?Do you want to have something in common with God? Good for you. I want that more than anything. So, how do we get there then? The answer is Jesus. Without Jesus we have nothing in common with God.

Here’s how you test for the genuine Spirit of God. Everyone who confesses openly his faith in Jesus Christ—the Son of God, who came as an actual flesh-and-blood person—comes from God and belongs to God. And everyone who refuses to confess faith in Jesus has nothing in common with God. This is the spirit of antichrist that you heard was coming. Well, here it is, sooner than we thought! (1 John 4:2-3, MSG, emphasis added,*)

Do you have something in common with God?

The bottom line is this: Everyone who refuses to confess faith in Jesus has nothing in common with God. Nothing. No connection whatsoever. We need Jesus to make us right with God.

This is also how we know whether someone comes from God and belongs to God. If Jesus is your saviour, you belong to God and you have everything in common with God. If not, you have nothing in common with God.

God’s invitation is open for everyone, you can refuse it of course. Or you can receive it with open arms. Choice is yours.

Gracious God,
Thank you for preparing the way for us.
Be praised for sending Jesus to save us.
Thank you for open invitation to be made right with you.
We want to have everything in common with you.
Give us Jesus, today and always.
Be praised forever and ever!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you confess faith in Jesus? Why/why not?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you embrace God’s grace and all God has for you!

  1. Amen. I have never thought of my relationship with Jesus as having something in common with God…BUT YES…I do. I will be pondering this all the day and many more to come. Thank you.

  2. Beautiful prayer. Thanks for visiting my site this morning Mari-Anna. So nice to “meet” you. I am thankful the Holy Spirit lives within me. I am so blessed to have something in common with God. Have a fantastic weekend and may God continue to bless you and yours.
