Rekindle Your Faith

Rekindle Your Faith

Set a fire down in my soul

You know that faith is a gift from God. You can’t earn it, you can just receive it. Just as spiritual gifts in general, also faith is inspired and brought to pass by one and the same Holy Spirit.

All these gifts have a common origin, but are handed out one by one by the one Spirit of God. He decides who gets what, and when. (1 Cor. 12:11, MSG)

If you have had the pleasure to receive the gift of faith….what are you doing with it? Does it brighten your days? Do you glow for Christ?

You know, faith is meant to be used. Because the more we use it and share it, the more faith we receive. We are not meant to sit on our faith. We are meant to put the whole world on fire!

That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination]. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:6-7, AMP, emphasis added,*)

It is time to rekindle the embers of our faith.
It is time to stir up the gracious gift of God.
It is time to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you.

Faith is not a set of beliefs to be embraced. Faith is a life lived in God’s grace. Faith is an intimate and passionate relationship with God. Faith is a fire deep down in our soul.

If you’re not feeling it, ask for it. God is more than happy to pour out as much grace as you need. God is more than eager to bless you and rekindle the gift of faith in you. God is waiting for you to ask him to set a fire deep down in your soul.

What are you waiting for? It’s time to rededicate yourself to Christ. It is time to fan the flame of your faith. It is time to set a fire deep in your soul.

It is time to want more of God and less of ourselves.
It is time to have faith that we can’t contain.
It is time to let faith and the Giver of faith control our lives.

Because God has answers to all of our questions.
Because Jesus have the words of eternal life.
Because the Holy Spirit empowers us for abundant living.

Gracious God,
You are everything we need.
Be praised forever and ever.
You are holy.
Be praised forever and ever.
You bless us richly.
Be praised forever and ever.
You love us dearly.
Be praised forever and ever.
Set a fire deep in our soul.
Be praised forever and ever.
We want more of you.
Be praised forever and ever.
In Jesus’ name,

Q4U: Is your faith blazing? Do you want more of God?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you let the Holy Spirit set a fire deep in you!

  1. Yes, LORD, Yes, LORD, Yes, LORD, YES!!! more, please & TY :)))
let all cast a glow as intensely burning embers so that others will desire to have & ask You for more faith, & also, for those yet w/o sight, work through our possession of Jesus to stir & create within the hearts of many, the undeniable need of Him so they WILL find the truth that they seek & what has been missed in their searching<3

  2. Yes and Amen! I love that He is setting a fire in my soul. This time apart from my husband is teaching me to lean into Him more and more. I’ve had some difficult weeks recently but through it all I know He is strengthening my faith. He is SO good. Great post, Mari-Anna. 🙂
