Grace for Has-beens and Wannabes
Do you feel like a has-been? Are you afraid that you will forever be just a wannabe? Do you feel like a failure? I have good news for you. There’s plenty of grace for has-beens and wannabees.
In God’s eyes and in the ways that really matter you always are a star and you will be cherished forever and ever. Don’t take my word on it but see what the Bible has to say about God’s love for you.
Scripture is pretty clear about God’s feelings for each of us. For example Psalm 139:14 where God says,“I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” In Deuteronomy 7:6, God tells us that we are “His treasured possession.” There just aren’t any has-beens or wannabes in God’s kingdom. Everyone is a cherished child of God.
It’s time to be extraordinarily you. Because God created you to be you and he will supply all the grace needed to become the best version of you. Don’t waste your time on pining after worldly success. Ask God what he wants you to do. You might be surprised how wonderful plans God has for you.
God’s grace for has-beens and wannabes is simple: Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment andrecreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne. (Matthew 11:28-30, AMP)
Life is not about performing, it’s about embracing God and what he does.
Salvation is not about us working our heads off but receiving grace through faith in Jesus.
Success is not about us making it, it’s about following Christ wherever he leads.
Rest in God’s grace. You have already arrived. All is well.
I pray for you all with the words of Ephesians 1:17-19, VOICE:
God of our Lord Jesus the Anointed, Father of Glory:
I call out to You on behalf of Your people.
Give them minds ready to receive wisdom and revelation so they will truly know You.
Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in.
Shine Your light on the hope You are calling them to embrace.
Reveal to them the glorious riches You are preparing as their inheritance.
Let them see the full extent of Your power that is at work in those of us who believe,
and may it be done according to Your might and power.
Amen
Q4U: Do you struggle with self-worth? How does God’s love impact you?
The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you. (2 Cor. 13:14, MSG)
