What I Hope for You This Summer

What I Hope for You This Summer

Praise the Lord
What I hope for you this summer is very simple. I hope you find some time for prayer and renewal in Christ. Very often the root cause of any stress in our lives is that we are self-centered and not God-centered.

May this summer be a blessed time to become refocused on God! Only then we can see all the blessings around us and praise the Lord. For he is good all the time.

Praise the Lord!
Let my whole being praise the Lord!

I will praise the Lord with all my life;
I will sing praises to my God as long as I live.
Don’t trust leaders;
don’t trust any human beings—
there’s no saving help with them!
Their breath leaves them,
then they go back to the ground.
On that very same day, their plans die too.
(Psalm 146:1-4, CEB)

As long as we want to be in control and in charge of our lives, we are not enjoying the privileges of being God’s children. May this summer be a blessed time to say so long to silly self-help and say hello to God’s help.

Surrender to God, let God mold you as he wish. Because only he can help you. Only God is in control and in charge. Always.

The person whose help is the God of Jacob—
the person whose hope rests on the Lord their God—
    is truly happy!
God: the maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them,
God: who is faithful forever,
who gives justice to people who are oppressed,
who gives bread to people who are starving!
The Lord: who frees prisoners.
The Lord: who makes the blind see.
The Lord: who straightens up those who are bent low.
The Lord: who loves the righteous.
The Lord: who protects immigrants,
        who helps orphans and widows,
but who makes the way of the wicked twist and turn!
The Lord will rule forever!

Zion, your God will rule from one generation to the next!
Praise the Lord!
(Psalm 146:5-10, MSG)

What I hope for you this summer is that you take some time to tend your spiritual garden. Learn to live in grace, to embrace the unforced rhythms of grace and to live freely and lightly in Jesus.

Then you are ready to praise God in every situation.
Then you are ready to face whatever comes.
Then you are ready even for some spiritual adventures!

Gracious God,
We thank you for summer!
We thank you for this time of renewal.
Enable us to fully surrender to you.
Teach us how to live freely and lightly in Jesus.
Show us how to live in your grace.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: What are your prayers for this summer? What can I pray for you?

Happy trails, my friend! Godspeed and abundant blessings, my fellow pilgrim!
