God-Colorful Life
I’ve always thought that life with God is life in colors and life without God is life in black and white. Many people insist that life in black and white is cool. And it might appear so but once you’ve experience life in color you would never go back into living God-colorless life. If you ever have watched TV in black and white, you have an idea how huge the difference is.
I have tried to find ways how to explain this to people, finally I stumbled upon the Holy Moly video series on YouTube. It illustrates beautifully how knowing God and believing in God makes you God-colorful. And the minute you turn away from God you become colorless again.
The only way we can be all we are meant to be is by abiding in Jesus.
The only way to live life in colors is by being filled by the Spirit of God.
The only way to live the way Jesus meant us to live is to live in love, not fear.
Life with God is indeed meant to be colorful and blessed. But our calling does not end there. We are called to be light, to bring out the God-colors in the world. So everyone could know the love of God, the grace of Jesus Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit.
“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. (Matthew 5: 14-16, MSG)
This is what Christian living means.
This is what living in grace means.
This is what it means to bear witness in the world.
All this leaves me thrilled. But I also realize that I desperately need God. Only by clinging to Jesus, only by being filled with the Spirit, only by keeping my eyes on Jesus, I am able to live God-colorful life and share the good news with others. But that’s just it. This precisely is the way to go. Nobody will be saved through me. But everybody can be saved through Christ. My task is to point to Christ, reflect God’s grace, and bring out the God’s colors in the world according to God’s plan. And all the while I praise God and enjoy God-colorful living. Thanks be to God!
Gracious God,
Thank you for wanting more to us
than bleak living.
Thank you for wanting to pour out
grace upon grace.
Thank you for generously filling us
with life and more life.
Keep us forever filled with your Spirit.
Enable us to live God-colorful lives.
Empower us to bring out God-colors in the world.
May Thy will happen in us, through us, for us.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Q4U: Do you know the difference between black&white living and God-colorful living?

To colors! Yes! I’ll raise a whole 64-crayon box in the air, in agreement! 🙂
Yey! Thank you, Jennifer! Colorful Blessings to you!
