You Do Matter
You do matter. You are wanted, loved, and cherished by God. You exist because God wanted you to exist. You exist because of God’s special love just for you. Like Thomas Kempis has said “To say that I am made in the image of God is to say that love is the reason for my existence, for God is love.”
Thank God! He deserves your thanks. His love never quits.
Thank the God of all gods,
His love never quits.
Thank the Lord of all lords.
His love never quits.
(Psalm 136:1-3, MSG)
You do matter. Just because you are a child of God. You don’t need to prove yourself. You don’t need to succeed. You don’t need to do anything special to matter to God. Because your value comes from being created by him.
Thank the miracle-working God,
His love never quits.
The God whose skill formed the cosmos,
His love never quits.
The God who laid out earth on ocean foundations,
His love never quits.
(Psalm 136:4-6,MSG)
You do matter. You are special in God’s eyes. You don’t need to earn his love. You don’t need to earn his grace. It is done. Christ did it all for you. And he would have done it just for you. Because you matter. So very much.
The God who filled the skies with light,
His love never quits.
The sun to watch over the day,
His love never quits.
Moon and stars as guardians of the night,
His love never quits.
(Psalm 136:7-9, MSG)
You do matter. Even when you fail. Even when you think you don’t matter. Even when you don’t deserve love. Even when you don’t deserve grace.
God remembered us when we were down,
His love never quits.
Rescued us from the trampling boot,
His love never quits.
Takes care of everyone in time of need.
His love never quits.
Thank God, who did it all!
His love never quits!
(Psalm 136:23-26,MSG)
You do matter. Because God is God. He is forever faithful and loving. God’s offer of grace stands. No matter what you do or leave undone, God loves you. He is waiting for you to come to him. Because you are special. You are wanted, cherished, and loved by God. And His love never quits!
May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you. May you be infused with strength and purity, filled with confidence in the presence of God our Father when our Master Jesus arrives with all his followers. (1 Thess. 3:11-13, MSG)
Gracious God,
Thank you for creating us.
Thank you for loving us so much.
Help us to understand that
we truly are wanted and loved by you.
Enable us to love you back and
live always in your grace.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

So wonderful to be loved!
Amen. Thanks for celebrating God’s love with me. Big blessings!
That is a loaded question my friend! How has God’s love NOT changed my life?! I suppose today I will focus on how God’s love has enabled me to love my family.
LOL. I guess so. God is radical and we are his works in progress. Change is ever-present in our lives when we give free hands for God! But God’s enabling grace is formidable! Thank you, Mary Beth, for visiting. Bountiful blessings to you and yours!
Beautiful post! Thanks for sharing it with us. And thank you for the reminder to look for all the ways God has and is blessing me – beyond measure!
Thanks, Robin. Somehow, I’ve missed your comment years ago but I am glad about it anyway. May God continue to bless you beyond measure!
