Weekend Prayer Wall {Mar. 10-11}

We must learn to measure ourselves, not by our knowledge about God, not by our gifts and responsibilities in the church, but by how we pray and what goes on in our hearts. Many of us, I suspect, have no idea how impoverished we are at this level. Let us ask the Lord to show us.~ J.I. Packer
Praying Hands
Prayer is no fitful, short-lived thing. It is no voice crying unheard and unheeded in the silence. It is a voice which goes into God’s ear, and it lives as long as God’s ear is open to holy pleas, as long as God’s heart is alive to holy things. ~E.M. Bounds

LORD my God, listen to your servant’s prayer and request, and hear the cry and prayer that your servant prays to you today. (1 Kings 8:28, CEB)

Offer prayers and petitions in the Spirit all the time. Stay alert by hanging in there and praying for all believers. (Eph. 6:18, CEB)

I pray to you, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
You are infinite in mercy,
and it is your will that we should learn to know you.
You created heaven and earth, you rule over all.
You are the true, the only God, and there is no other god above you.
grant, through our Lord Jesus Christ and the working of the Holy Spirit,
that all may come to know you,for you alone are God.
Let them draw strength from you and be kept from all teachings that is heretical or godless.
~Iranaeus (ca.130-200)

God of love, whose compassion never fails;
we bring before you the troubles and perils of people and nations,
the sighing of prisoners and captives,
the sorrows of the bereaved,
the necessities of strangers,
the helplessness of the weak,
the despondency of the weary,
the failing powers of the aged.
O Lord, draw near to each;
for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord.

    Be praised forever and ever.
    You are AWESOME!
    Pour out your grace on us,
    to each one of us according to our needs.
    Open our eyes to see and ears to hear
    what you have for us.
    Guide us clearly!
    Don’t let us hinder your work in/through us.
    May Your will happen on earth as it is in heaven.

    How ironic(?) this prayer is to 2012, almost 1,000 years ago!

    God Bless Flowing Faith for finding me.

  4. Lord, thank you for your promises and your never-ending grace and mercy to us. Forgive us when we fall, steady us when we stumble, and remind us of our need for you when things are going well and we walk comfortably with you. Thank you for the gift of recognizing our helplessness and our utter dependence on you. Perfect your strength in our weaknesses. At the end of this day, I am weary, Lord. Allow me to rest in your peace and protection tonight and always. Thank you for giving us your best and for giving us freedom and new life in Christ. In his powerful and tender name, we pray. Amen.

  5. We continue to remember Joshua and his mother in our prayers, and I ask for your continued prayers for my debilitating health treatments and for the ability to rest in God during this time when I’m unable to do most regular activities. Thank you all and God bless.

    1. Yes, Lord. Hear our prayers for Joshua and his mother! Hear our prayers for Sara! You are faithful! You are able! You are in control! Bless them according to their needs. Carry them in your arms, Lord. Create something totally new in these lives! Thank you! In Jesus’ name, Amen
