Weekend Prayer Wall {Jan. 28-29}

Weekend Prayer Wall {Jan. 28-29}

Oh, how few find time for prayer! There is time for everything else, time to sleep and time to eat, time to read the newspaper and the novel, time to visit friends, time for everything else under the sun, but – no time for prayer, the most important of all things, the one great essential!~ Oswald J. Smith

Nobody ever got anything from God on the grounds that he deserved it. Haven fallen, man deserves only punishment and death. So if God answers prayer it’s because God is good. From His goodness, His lovingkindness, His good-natured benevolence, God does it! That’s the source of everything.~ A. W. Tozer

Come, children, listen to me.
Let me teach you
how to honor the LORD:
Do you love life;
do you relish the chance
to enjoy good things?
Then you must keep your tongue
from evil
and keep your lips
from speaking lies!
Turn away from evil! Do good!
Seek peace and go after it!
The LORD’s eyes
watch the righteous,
his ears listen to their cries for help.

When the righteous cry out,
the LORD listens;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
The LORD is close
to the brokenhearted;
he saves those whose spirits
are crushed.

(Psalm 34:11-15,17-18, CEB)

Lord, teach me to listen. The times are noisy and my ears are weary with the thousand raucous sounds which continuously assault them. Give me the spirit of the boy Samuel when he said to Thee, “Speak, for Thy servant heareth.” Let me hear Thee speaking in my heart. Let me get used to the sound of Thy voice, that its tones may be familiar when the sounds of earth die away and the only sound will be the music of Thy speaking. Amen.
(A. W. Tozer)

O Holy Spirit of God,
abide with us;
inspire all our thoughts;
pervade our imaginations;
suggest all our decisions;
order all our doings.
Be with us
in our silence and in our speech,
in our haste and in our leisure,
in company and in solitude,
in the freshness of the morning and
in the weariness of the evening;
and give us grace at all times
humbly to rejoice in Thy mysterious companionship.
(John Baillie)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let’s pray in Jesus’ name!

Now it’s time for you to jump in with your prayers/prayer requests in the comment section (or link up your prayer post!). Let’s also pray for each other! Someone will pray for you/with you. (Because this is a global prayer wall, sometimes – due to the time differences – prayers are not instant. But know that God hears you 24/7! BLESSINGS!

  1. Dear God,
    I surrender everything to you,
    may your will happen in everything.
    Please, guide me clearly,
    show how can I best serve you
    each step of the way.
    I ask you to bless everyone
    who visits Flowing Faith
    according to their needs.
    May your message to each of them
    be heard loud and clear.
    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen

  2. Thank you for this Weekend’s Praying Wall!
    How difficult is remember and talk only good things, but easy spread gossips and things to others even you are not sure and from where that have come.

    1. You are welcome, Riitta! Thank you for your kind words. And, yes, I hear you. Gossiping hurts more people we can imagine. God bless you, sis, for reminding us all of this.

      May God keep us from gossiping and spreading rumors.
      May God clean our hearts and minds so we could concentrate on what’s good.
      May God enable us to share his love and grace.

  3. Father God, I pray that we have patience to cease our activity, and the faith to leave our burdens with you. Help us, Lord, to rest in You, abide in You, listen to You, and let You bring us into fruitfulness. In Jesus name, amen.
