Are You a God-Bearer?
Mary had already everything-that-is-needed-for-Christmas on her way to Bethlehem. Do you have everything-that-is-needed-for-Christmas in your heart? Do you have Jesus? Are you a God-bearer?God-bearers are people who have surrendered their lives to Jesus. Then it’s not us anymore who directs our lives.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Gal 2: 19-20, CEB)
God is not calling (just) super-talented people. He is calling ordinary people like Mary, you and me to bear him into the world. Because it’s not about us but it is about God. And that’s why our limitations are not hindering God’s plan for us or for the world. Angel Gabriel told to Mary “Nothing is impossible for God.” (Luke 1: 37, CEB)
God is only asking if we are willing to do his will in our lives. But we can be assured that we are not left alone to tackle the tasks we’re given. God loves us and love wants what’s best for us. When we do God’s will in our lives we will be experiencing ultimate joy. That’s why we can be bold as Mary and say “I am the Lord’s servant. Let it be with me just as you have said.” ( Luke 1: 38, CEB)
Today I challenge you to think and pray these questions:
How does God want you to bring Christ to the world?
Do you let the Holy Spirit make you pregnant? Are you willing to follow Christ even when everything does not make sense?
Do you let God to birth something new in/through your life this Christmas?
Remember: Nothing is impossible for God. Don’t look at impossibilities but look at God! If you want to be a God-bearer, you can be sure God will call, equip, and empower you! Dare to pray large prayers and say “yes” to God!
Gracious God,
You are an awesome God!
You are asking to live in us and through us.
Come, Lord Jesus!
Call us, equip us, empower us!
May YOUR will happen in/through us!
All glory to you!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Q4U: Are you a God-bearer? How are you asked to bear God into the world?
Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you prayerfully dream big for God!

The concept of the Holy Spirit making us pregnant today is compelling. Thank you.
Wonderful! Thank you, JoAnne! God bless you richly!
I love the questions, ‘Are you willing to let God birth something new in you this Christmas.” That is what I am going to pray.

I love this…asking some of the same question…pondering Mary…I love the question…do you let the Holy Spirit make you pregnant…oh to be ripe with Him…
Blessings and Merry Christmas…
Oh to be ripe with Him! Indeed! Thank you for your comment. May you be abundantly blessed!
I never thought about asking God to make me pregnant with His Holy Spirit. What a thought to nurture in my heart today.
Yes! It certainly is a thought to nurture and pray about. May God show you what it means in your life. Thank you, Jen! Christmas blessings!
