Fearless Living: Fact or Fiction?

Fearless Living: Fact or Fiction?

Are you courageously living out your faith? Or do you let your friends and family silence you? It is natural wanting to be accepted by others. But sometimes the price is too high.

“Don’t be bluffed into silence by the threats of bullies. There’s nothing they can do to your soul, your core being. Save your fear for God, who holds your entire life—body and soul—in his hands. (Matthew 10. 28, MSG)

Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
But fear of men is the beginning of foolishness.
Fearless living is a fact when we are powered by the Holy Spirit.
Fearless living is fiction when we are counting on our own power.

Fearful living is not being fully alive. When we are afraid our life diminishes. When we live fearfully our life loses its color and taste. Everything gets bland. Not something we think life should be. Quite the opposite! But too often we give in to fear. It seems to be the easier choice. But when we give in to fear we get stuck. Fear paralyzes us. But we do have a choice. Because the Light has come!

“What’s the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head! So don’t be intimidated by all this bully talk. You’re worth more than a million canaries. (Matthew 10: 28-31, MSG)

When we live in God’s grace nothing can be against us. When we have died with Christ and resurrected into new life with Christ we are truly alive. Life gets its color and taste back. We get energized and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Fearless living is the way of Real Life.

God has promised to take care of us. God knows what is going on in our lives down to the last detail. We can rest in him. When we are close to him we are fearless. Like Martin Luther has said: “Of whom shall I be afraid? One with God is a majority.”

Don’t be afraid. Be bold! Be strong! God Almighty is with you!

Gracious God,
Save us from ourselves!
Show us what it means to be really alive in you.
Give us courage to be bold in you.
Empower us for fearless living!
Thank you for taking care of us,
knowing us down to the last detail.
Bless us according to our needs.
In Jesus name,
Amen
