Live in Jesus

Live in Jesus

Hurry is the enemy of spiritual well-being, don’t you think? Hurriedness blurs our vision and steals our joy. Soon we feel strangers in our own lives. That’s not what we want, right? It’s the opposite of happiness. Yet we end up there when we hurry through our lives and do not live in Jesus. Christmas time was supposed to be relaxing and joyful. Yet most of us hurried through the festivities are were left drained instead. Why do we do that to ourselves?

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (Col. 2:6-7,NIV,*)

Live in Jesus

How then can we live in Jesus? (And how is that supposed to help us to live better?) Living in Jesus is nothing but sharing our life with him. But we tend to forget Jesus overnight and we rush through our days without paying any attention to him. And then we wonder why we feel disintegrated and unhappy. So remind your soul of Jesus, connect with him daily and your life will be less hurried and your spiritual life more robust.

Spiritual well-being follows when we live in Jesus and let our roots grow down into him and our lives to be built on him. And this does not happen when we live in a continual hurry. We all know this, yet we continue in this rat race like that would bring happiness. Like that would sooth our souls and give meaning and purpose to our lives. Only Jesus can do that. So let’s live in him. Unhurriedly, thankfully, praisefully.

Gracious God,
Forgive us for rushing through life and forgetting you.
Teach us to live in Jesus,
to share everything with you.
Show us how blessed it is to let our roots from down into Jesus.
Bless us with your presence,
guide us into spiritual well-being.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you live in Jesus or is it still a dream?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you let your roots grow down into Jesus and let your life be built on him!
